I'm in a random mood...

I have more ideas than I have time.Â That is frustrating.Â

I've never been one to trip on age and aging.Â I am,Â however, trippin on the fact that I'm getting older.Â As a grown folk, there are certain things you can not and should not do.Â For example.Â It is now too late for me to live the life of Janet Jackson (even though she and I are the same age I believe).

I just scored Janet Jackson tix (ironically on my bday) and I am not the least bit thrilled about it! LOLSometimes being married - and the fact that you do have to compromise ... sux.Â Sometimes I just want it my own darn way for no other reason than that I want it my own darn way.

Having two college aged kids lets me know that despite how I good I feel, i am getting older.

Michelle Obama is phenomenal!Â I loved her speech at the DNC!Â She has set the bar so high for a first lady - no one has ever and will ever touch her.Â Go head sista!

It's sad that as great as First Lady Obama was last night, there are some that will still attempt to cast a negative light on her speech.

Every time I am saying 'Joe Biden' I have to stop myself from saying 'Joe Budden'

Sad that someone apparently thinks they'd like to take Barack out and made efforts to do so.

I find myself thinking 'is this it?' every once in a while.Â Sad.

I'm reading 'Pathway to Purpose' in hopes of getting it together!

I'm thinking this salad spritzer will loose it's effectiveness if i keep spraying it onto this one salad!

Listening to old Alicia Keys which I like much better than the new stuff.

Upset that I can have a bazillion plans during the day of what I'm going to do when I get home, but when I get there - NOT!

I wish I could rock a no hair / short hair doo.Â I hate hair.

I'm sleepy.Â As usual.Â Of course come midnight, I magically will not be.

I'm feeling very anti social these days - that is so unchristianlike.

I'm envious of all the greek chicks.Â I'm going to start a Sorority for women who didn't go to college.

I wonder if my son will pledge one day.

I am SO glad it's a 3 day weekend coming up.

Is it me, or does life seem extra complicated these days?

I'm bored with all 1,308 in my iTunes.

I need a tootsie roll (the candy not the dance! LOL)

My Lil Sun Devil

Well... I'm trying not to take things too personal but it's not completely working.Â My son was waiting anxiously to relieve himself from us (me, dad and grandma), of course not before having something to eat!Â LOLÂ But soon after, he was just ready for us to be gone.Â I mean, I know he is excited and all - but dang!

You see - he's made a handful of friends in AZ already.Â Thanks to Facebook, he already cybermet his roommate (which is very cool) plus there were 2 people from our city who are not only attending ASU but are in his school (business).Â Â And about two nights before we left home, he met another new friend who is also here and been blowing up his cell with 'where you at?'.Â Not to mention ALL of the students are excited and super friendly right now.Â Made *me* almost want to stay ~ shoo...

So, I guess I can't be too mad.Â As the clock got closer to 4pm, he got a lil more *tudish*.Â He didn't have time to set his dorm room up; didn't feel like chasing down his bathroom key; wasn't interested in photos w/grandma or anyone else, for he had a freshman event to get to!Â Yea, I felt a bit put off, but at the core I completely understand.Â Just kind of hard of a pill to swallow :-(

We leave AZ early tomorrow morning after we stop by his dorm for our final farewell.Â Gotta get back to my hood for my other sons football game.Â I love AZ, the school (ranked #4 for schools to watch!) and know he is going to do wonderful.Â Yet, I'm having a harder time than expected in dealing with the fact that I'm no longer ranking in importance to my lil Sun Devil.

Forgot to mention that on the way in to AZ, right after our pitstop in Blithe, right as Reg said 'slow down, there's the police' the police car was already coming out of his lil not so secret hiding space (didn't know how I didn't see him).Â I didn't hit the brakes, just put my foot off the gas, but by then he had already clocked me.Â He asked after stopping me (you know he did), 'do you know how fast you were going'.Â Would I really answer that honestly?Â He said 'I clocked you at 89 mph.Â I was thinking 'hmm... that's better than I was going about 15 minutes ago LOL'.Â Anywho.Â Thanking God.Â He let Ms. Leadfoot and the family go with a warning.Â Lawd.

today was kinda blah.Â not about getting older per se.Â just extremely busy and i don't have the energy nor desire to keep up.Â i'd rather go chill somewhere with a book and just enjoy being at home.Â anything really but chasing the almighty dollar.

work is becoming not enough.Â freelancing is becoming a pain in my behind.Â after i finish these three projects i think i'm gonna be on freelance hiatus for the remainder of the year.Â i need to refocus.Â hmm... deja vu.

my son is 90% ready for the big shove off on thursday.Â his mom is not!Â i am getting more emotional every day.Â *sigh*Â not looking forward to this.Â has to happen.Â but.

Well - the countdown commencith!Â In thirty days, on September 17th, I will reach the milestone anniversary of my birth.Â I will be the big 4 - 0.Â I'm honestly not buggin on the age.Â Not much.Â LOLÂ Never been squimish about getting older - not in the traditional way that people trip anyway.

I *am* somewhat buggin' on the fact that a) i haven't put a dent into a handful of goals I have for myself and b) my kids are growing up and moving on!

Goals... Schmoles... I won't go into all the plans I had and thought I would reach before turning 40.Â It'd kinda pointless since I ain't reached up.Â I'm very satisfied with my life and the direction, so that will have to do.Â I need to refocus some of my attention though and definitely need to subscribe to the 'what matters most' principles.Â Time to holla at Covey LOL

Too young to have TWO college aged kids! The biggest trip for me these days is being brought on by the fact that my second child, my beautiful son, is heading to college this weekend.Â I know when my husband and I leave Arizona on Saturday I will be no good.Â Poor Reg, 5 hours of me snivveling!Â LOL

All in all - I am blessed and thankful to be here.Â I have no complaints.Â Wouldn't mind if the world would quit spinnin' so fast, but ... it is what it is :-)

OK - I'm getting a bit stir crazy at home.Â And with my husband working nights, I find myself up and flipping channels while he's not home.Â Boo!Â So I've checked out this movie w/Jodie Foster called 'The Brave One', where she becomes a vigilante and does her thug thang after being brutally attacked.Â It was an interesting flick.Â I have to admit, I was more into the scenes that featured Naveen Andrews (who I've learned is/was on Lost - didn't/don't watch, but feeling like I should've!) LOL.Â Â IÂ had to look that brotha up!Â Looks like he is married or dating Barbara Hershey, based on the fact that she is in several photos smushed up against him.Â Uhm.Â Isn't she as old as Jesus?Â That was haterific.Â Sowwy.

Another focus for me was sessy ole Terence Howard who played a detective.Â He always gives a movie some brownie points from me! LOL Seriously, his storyline was the most interesting to me.Â The rest made me think of 'Death Wish' really.

Hmm... I'ma give this movie 3.5 out of 5 stars.Â Ok... Maybe 4 just because Naveen is very, very handsome ;-)

Girls Night Out: Love, Laughter, Lookey Loos & Movies

love
getting together with my girlfriends.Â It's an event that doesn't happen too often for this old married momma, so I think that is why I treasure it all the more.Â There were six of us... kickin it at the Arclight on Sunset.Â So you know a good time has got to be had right?

From the moment we get together till weeks after there is sure to be a lot of laughter over the crazy... crazy... CRAZY conversations that we have/had.Â I don't know who reads this blog, so I will not go into details.Â Suffice it to say, it's no where near G rated.

I had no idea the Arclight was a star studded joint.Â In one night I saw (chest beats frantically) the lovely Ms. Sanaa Lathan.Â Thank God my girls were there or I wouldn't believe it myself.Â If you know me at all, you should know how much I love Sanaa!!!!Â Then we saw the maesto George Duke!Â All casual and chillin' with friends (I assume).Â After the movie we also saw Ronny Turiaf from the L.A. Lakers (why couldn't it have been Derek Fisher????)!!Â Finally, I spied Gina Ravera from the movie Soul Food who was in line behind us to validate parking.

Oh... The movie?Â We saw 'Wanted' with Ms. Hotness Angelina Jolie, The man Morgan Freeman and lawd a mercy - Common!Â AWESOME!Â Some of the special effects were a bit over the top, but definitely exciting to see.Â I'm also completely and thorougly through with the amount of scenes the lusciousness known as Common was in.Â But I will forgive them that with the wonderful performance from Morgan.
