The weekend was non stop leaving me (you guessed it) exhausted today! I'm to old for all this activity!

::: Friday

• worked feverishly on the MC site because i wasn't about to set foot up in that concert with out a status (should I be asked).


• picked up my boos tux ~ he chose white. interesting. lol


• found out it was my nieces prom and so the festivities had already begun in northern Cali! She looks absolutely beautiful!

::: Saturday

• Pick up corsage and bootineer. Wonder why my sons date ordered 'apricot' ribbon when their color is gold/yellow. *sigh*


• Work on website more.


• My son finally get's dressed and so - the photo's begin! (I'm the one everyone hates for constantly snap snap snappin' pix when they aren't ready LOL)


• We head over to the pick up place, but have to go rounds w/the Mr. as he is trying to figure out exactly how much Chris needs for prom, after prom, etc. *sigh*.


• We get to house one. Yep I said house one. I didn't realize we'd be traveling all around the world for this. so now I'm a lil anxious cause I got stuff to do (I know - selfish!)


• we take pix here and go to the other house, where the limo is *really* picking everyone up. all the kids were beautiful. I cant remember if we looked this grown in our day, but they sure do now. and the boys, who usually have on saggin britches and too big shirts looked great!

• hee hee - my boo. It was my other nieces prom as well (with Chris) but we don't have their pix yet. Slow pokes!


• So finally the limo takes off. I drop off papa and son and floor it. I need to pick up my sister and head roughly 80 miles to make the concert. by now it's 6:30 and the concert starts a 7. LOL


• Made excellent time (they don't call me lead foot for nothing) and get great parking.


• Get my 1+ access and 5 VIP bracelets and am told (hear record scratch here) we don't have a table. WHA? So we go in. and hit up the ladies room before proceeding to VIP (which I don't care for because if I want to watch the band on a screen, I can watch a video at home!). I notice they have names on the table and plan to make sure one doesn't have mine on it.


• Viola!

• Note to self: Don't forget to complain to the Vault 350 about their uninformed, unconcerned personnell!


• Concert was good. Not great. In fact, I can't even remember much about it except that they came out to the title track of their forthcoming CD 'eLife". I felt they were *off* the whole night. Stokley mentioned there were technical difficulties. I dunno if they were so technical. O'dell was masterful as always. The band was good as always. But my boo seemed a lil off (Stokley). And the songs all seemed kind of abbreviated. Ah well. You can't win them all I guess. And since I didn't pay, I'm not complaining! LOL


• As I had mentioned last week. I've been perturbed with them on a professional level so had no intention of trying to go back stage. Then I realized it would be rude to not at least say thank you. So we made our way back.


• As always, they made a sista blush and forget all my angst LOL. Rick, who's usually , how can I put this, preoccupied , was still preoccupied, but was at least pleasant. he asked me if I had a bottle opener. What do I look like a lush? Later for him. Jeff, who might I add, has been working out cause when he raised his arms while on stage performing, his biceps almost hit me up on the balcony - that's how huge they are LOL I think he knew they were eye candy as he kept doin' this flex move. Go head on JA!


• After generic chitter chatter, I couldn't restrain myself from asking what the heck happened to us getting together. I wish I could have recorded his response. It was akin to when Barack told the media 'look' before proceeding with his commentary, as if to say 'back off' ~ but more jovial. He aired some frustrations and said we'd discuss the following week.

• I don't know why I never noticed that Larry looks dead on like my uncle. Before he got to me, someone asked him something about the web video and he pointed me out. I tried to hide, cause quite honestly, I did not want to answer anything about the website at that moment. But it was all good.


• so i'm starving, but my girl joann had never met the band and is love w/stokley so we kinda had to stay. just when i'd had enough though, here comes his fineness. don't think there is more to be said about SW!


• We finally headed out to get our grub on.  Let me just wrap this up by saying that it was 5am when I got in the house.  And mad  I add that it was still 82 degrees outside?!  I'm too old for all this

:::Sunday

• BUT, I'm not about to miss church!  So at 7am, i drag my booty out of the  bed i pretty much had just entered. and get ret to go.


• we had a guest speaker who was phenomenal!  he had everyone convicted and in tears.


• usually i get in a nap 'tween am and pm service.  of course since i am extremely tired, that can't be the case this Sunday, now can it?  so materials need to be created for the evening service by yours truly.  *sigh*.  AND i  had to return the tux.  *smh*


• take the materials to the church, just to find out that they are needed at a different event going on at the same time about 20 minutes away.  not happy.  extremely tired.  getting grouch.


• we get there, but too late to do what needed to be done.  sigh.


• we're not done... i still needed to grocery shop!  i had planned on being in the bed at 9pm.  try 11.  :-(

So as I am sitting here - typing all this out and getting pissed cause my computer is extremely slow right now AND I should be doing work, not blogging.  I'm getting grouchy.  Need lunch.  and definitely need sleep.  can't do anything about the latter. So.  I guess it's back to work!

Last night, I thought I was exhausted, and got into bed about 9. That is crazy early for me. I tossed and turned for some time and realized I wasn't going to sleep anytime soon. So I flipped on the TV. I love movies, but have watching them from anywhere but the beginning. So I searched for something that was just starting and sounded interesting, and landed on Apocalypto. I don't remember what I'd heard about it, but I know I had. Mind you, I was not in the mood to be reading subtitles and all, but I did end up watching it. The movie was great! Simply put, it's a story of will ~ very beautifully illustrated. A bit graphic at times, but ~ well worth it!

Simply because it's the 18th of the month!

1. I can't believe I am not excited in the least about the Mint Condition concert next weekend!


2. I am, however, excited about my son attending his prom (even though he went last year as a Jr. as someones date).  He is gonna look soo cute in his tux.  hee hee


3. My head is throbbing out of control.  Sinus headaches are the worst!


4. I need to up my podcast game.  This cat makes me sick! (but in a good way).


5. My youngest has hair on his legs.  Lordhavemercy!


6. Not thrilled about singing this weekend.  I love to sing mind you, but my voice is being weird lately.  Kinda scratchy.  Was even hoarse one day and haven't been normal since.  Weird.


7. I'm so sick of this preliminary race.  The Dems are working my nerves.  Hillary - sit down already!


8. Food prices going up + gas going up - salary increases being comical = recession in my book.


9. It is amazing to me how people online will more easily say hi, take efforts to make someone smile, show concern, etc., when the people in your general proximity are doing the opposite! LOL


10. I think I'm mad at Darren and Dan for not hipping me up to Renee Sebastian!  What a beautiful voice!


11. Is it possible to attend a church where you do not care for the minister on a personal level?  (In other words, his sermon delivery is on point, but his attitude and interpersonal skills suck!)


12. I really hope Barack Obama is our next president.  Not sure who would win if it comes down to Clinton vs McCain.


13. As much as I love working from home - I REALLY need to make it a point to go outside!


14. Why was I JUST informed that not only are we singing Sunday morning, but also Sunday night?!?!?!?!?!?  Not happy about this about this AT ALL!


15. Eating lunch at 3pm is simply not smart.


16. I aspire to be the type of person who always has a positive outlook.  Eternally optimistic.


17. The desire for natural hair is returning.  It usually does when my relaxer is growing out.  Wonder if the notion will actually see the light of day?!


18. I am SO glad it's Friday and just about time for the work day to END!

I usually chastise myself when I let life get me down. I want to be one of those people who always tend to roll with the punches. Alas, that is just not me. Fortunately, I don't stay down for long though! Be it a good friend, or a well meaning stranger. A good song, or a bible verse. Something always manages to put things BACK into perspective. Currently, it's Martha Munizzi's 'The Great Exchange'.

I have much to be thankful for.

I was so ticked that out of 500 some odd channels, I wasn't able to find one thing that interested me. So. I went with whatever was just about to come on. It happened to be 'The Departed'. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio (yum), crazy old Jack Nicholson (awesome), Anthony Anderson, even my boy Mark Wahlberg (who looked craaaazy in it). So with a cast like that, it's gotta be at least interesting right?

Wrong!

That movie was off the chains! I mean I was on the edge of my seat trying to help my man Leo not get caught. The ending was just as twisted as the rest of the flick. Two words. LOVED IT!

Just because it's April 11th

1. i'm grumpy


2. i'm not sure why my husband insists on doing some things by himself.  doesn't he know that i'm here to help?  or maybe he doesn't want my help.  who doesn't want help?


3. it's sexy beautiful outside.  looking throuhg the window you can see it's windy.  but it's actually very hot.  and yet, the breeze is cool.  sensual.


4. my youngest actually gave me a real kiss this morning.  he usually just puts his cheek out for me to kiss.


5. i may quit the praise team.  no one is committed and we end up looking stupid.  sure it's about praise, but we need to give it out best.  not whats left.  frustrating.


6. i hate capital letters.


7. hot showers are bad, and yet, i simply can not do it any other way!


8. coffee is an addiction


9. 'fab by 40' is not progressing as i would have liked it to.  i am so not motivated and have been unable to find my motivation mojo.


10. my iTunes library is getting on my nerves.  i need some new music.
