uhm... well I wasn't going to share this, but it seems to have provided a lot of good laughter for my husband... my boss and co-worker... children ... doctor, etc.  So why would I deprive you?!

After rehearsal last night, I was trying to talk myself into going to the gym.  Instead I did the very thing I shouldn't have.  I turned on the TV.  Lo and behold, 'Love & Basketball' was on.  There went the gym.  I actually only ended up watching for a short while before deciding I should really just go to bed.  Changed into sleep gear and decided that at that very moment, at 1am or so, it was a good idea to go ahead and hang the ceiling in my room.

So I'm standing on my bed with my left foot on the edge of my nightstand... the safe wood part, not the unsafe glass part (heh).  And with the quickness multiple thoughts ran through my head.  Let me give it to you exactly as it occured.

• thinks this is probably not a good idea at all


• remembers scarlett taking a fall and states again 'this is probably not a good idea at all'


• thinks - thought my foot is on the wood part, it would proably be really bad if it landed up on the glass


• hears a loud pop


• feels a weird sensation of falling


• realizes i fell


• realizes i'm lying on the floor looking just like scarlett


• son #1 comes in and i assure him that though I am on the floor, i am fine


• realize there is blood on carpet


• realize there is a HUGE gash in my foot right by my toe


• realize blood is flowing out like crazy.


• my son gives me some towels.


• i proceed to clean up the blood from the carpet.


• thinks 'don't feet contain a serious artery?'


• wonders, if i should call the parmedics


• gets back into some clothes and calls paramedica


• realizes, my foot isn't really bleeding anymore


• call off the paramedics


• thinks, i just need to elevate my foot and go to bed.  i wrap it and do just that

Now seems like a good time to wrap this story up.  I went to the doctor today.  He said I did a good job of cleaning it.  He then asked what size shoe I wear and that man did he have a nice show for me.  So for the next 6 days, it's me and this beauty on my left foot which I am to stay off of.

And at the risk of further embarrassing myself, this is pretty much what it looked like

LOL - God has spoken... I will be putting up my feet and doing nothing for a few days!
